How I’m Keeping your Loved Ones Safe for Your Newborn, Baby or Family Portrait Session

As a newborn photographer with a studio dedicated to photographing babies, children and maternity sessions, the health and safety of the families I work with—especially the tiniest ones—are always my top priority. From safely posing your newborn to thoroughly cleaning every surface and prop, I take great pride in maintaining one of the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the industry. My portrait studio is designed to be a calm, welcoming space where you can feel confident that every precaution has been taken. Working with babies requires a sharp eye for detail and a deep sense of care, and I’m honored that my clients trust me with such an important responsibility.

Best Practices I Follow to Maintain a Clean and Safe Studio

I’m happy to share the steps I take to keep my studio clean, sanitized, and ready for every session:

• All wraps and fabrics are washed with a baby-safe detergent after each use.
• All props that are not machine washable are wiped down with non-toxic cleaning agents after each use.
• Hand sanitizer and tissues are provided in the bathroom and common areas.
• Bathroom and baby changing table are cleaned with disinfectant after each session. Disposable liners are provided for the changing table.
• All studio areas are cleaned with non-toxic cleaning agents after each session.
• The studio provides sealed water bottles, a self-serve Keurig coffee machine, and individually wrapped food items for freshness and food-allergy safety.
• Trash receptacles are emptied immediately after each session.
• All outlet plugs within reach have been baby-proofed.
• I’m up to date on my vaccines and thoroughly sanitize my hands before handling your baby.
• If myself or anyone in your family is feeling ill, exhibiting a fever or symptoms of a cold or flu within 72 hours of your appointment, the session will be rescheduled without penalty.
• I kindly ask that footwear be removed before entering the studio, as to not track in dirt and germs from the bottoms of shoes. You are welcome to bring slippers, socks, or any other indoor-only footwear if you don’t prefer to be barefooted.

I remain committed to maintaining a clean and safe studio environment for every family I photograph. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I implemented enhanced protocols—including masking, strict illness policies, and quarantine guidelines—to prioritize the health of my clients. While I’ve returned to regular procedures now that the pandemic has passed, I continue to stay informed and adaptable in response to emerging health concerns or trends.
